Conference Questions Answered
Friday, 22nd of May 2009 at 02:19:41 PMIf you’ve ever emailed the SHRM Member Care Center, then it’s highly likely that you’ve “spoken” with Veronica Johnson. She is a Senior Member Care Representative and has been with SHRM for about 4 ½ years. This will be her third Annual Conference. She’s taken a moment away from the “backed up” emails in order to post a blog entry that addresses the top two questions Member Care has been getting about the Annual Conference. Take note!

· Question: I thought I would be receiving conference information by now…When will I begin receiving my information?
· Answer: In the upcoming weeks you will receive a packet in the mail. This packet will contain colored envelopes which will include your name badges and tickets to the conference events. It is important to bring these envelopes with you to conference registration to avoid long lines in registration. If you happen to forget your packet, plan to arrive early at conference registration so that we may get you registered.
· Question: Are there shuttle buses between conference hotels?
· Answer: In your conference packet, you will receive a Shuttle bus schedule. Please be sure to bring this with you to New Orleans. It is suggested to plan out your departure and arrival times and locations for a more pleasant conference experience.
“Very soon, you will be receiving an email regarding your name badge. This is a preview of how your name badge will look once it has been printed. The email address that is currently on your record is used for the email blast. Please take the time to review, make the necessary changes and submit for updates in order to avoid long lines and wait times at conference registration.

Do you have any info on the shuttle service from the airport? It seems that I read that you should have a reservation in order to use it but to be honest I am not sure where I read that.

Do you know how many people are registered so far?
Is there a way to have a guest attend the opening night festivities if he/she is not registered for the conference?
Hi KZ,
Guests can register for a Guest program which includes the opening general session, exhibit hall, Tuesday Night show and closing general session. The cost is $295. They can also register for one day registration for Sunday only but the cost is higher.

Can we purchase extra Sheryl Crow tickets at the conference for guests or should we purchase them online beforehand?

I just received my packet (with my badge etc..) and a schedule was not included. Do you know where this information is located?
I also just received my packet. No shuttle bus schedule, nor were there colored envelopes. I only received one blue envelope with my badge and tickets. Am I missing materials??

Thanks for the posts! I just got word from the Member Care Team! If you haven’t received your shuttle bus schedules, then they may still be en route via snail mail. However, if you do not receive the shuttle schedule by Monday (June 22), then the shuttle schedule will be available for you at the registration tables when you arrive at the Conference.
