The Anatomy of a Great Leader by Richard Flint

Mega session speaker Richard Flint will be presenting his session, “Bringing Value as a Leader,” on Monday, June 29 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. Check out his blog entry below.

The Anatomy of a Great Leader

by Richard Flint

What do you think are the qualities of a great leader?  I have always felt one of the most important characteristics is passion.  Sure there are plenty of admirable qualities a leader can possess – drive, intelligence, humor — but PASSION is center for me.  Without passion there is no commitment, without commitment one doesn’t put their heart into what they are doing.  Today, more than anytime in our recent history, do we need leaders who exude passion. People today are struggling with moral and momentum and are searching for a leader whose passion says, “Follow me!”  We haven’t had that in a while and it is what will rebuilt trust and recharge people’s spirit.  Passion is the energy that comes from the heart and is filled with enthusiasm and screams through behavior, “Yes we can!”  Hey, together let’s form a chain of passionate leaders who are stating through behavior and words, “We can!”
